Guanxi is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and stems from ancient Chinese history. The map shows Chinese kingdoms in 500 BC which fought amongst themselves bitterly. Sun Tzu’s Art of War became popular at this time as each kingdom struggled to survive and every angle of leverage against your foe could mean the difference between survival and ruin. These kingdoms developed there own language and culture and citizens of these kingdoms shared “guanxi”.
